Cherie Lisee and Robert Piepenburg join Merrimack Valley Credit Union.


In the Spotlight: Merrimack Valley Credit Union expanded its senior leadership team with two newly created positions. Cherie Lisee, a business attorney, joins as vice president of risk management, and Robert Piepenburg, with more than 30 years of financial and lending experience, joins as the organization’s new vice president of commercial lending. Both will work from the organization’s Massachusetts offices. Merrimack Valley Credit Union has branches in Plaistow and Seabrook, and eight branches in Massachusetts.

Brookstone Builders, Inc., a construction management/general contractor in Manchester, has been awarded a project by Community College System of NH to renovate approximately 8,000 square feet of current classroom and lab space at Manchester Community College.

Price Rite Marketplace, which has a location in Manchester, has raised more than $131,000 for area food banks through its annual Check-Out Hunger campaign. From November through December 2019, stores in NH, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Maryland, New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania and collect donations at checkout for food banks to support the fight against hunger.

Squad X prime contractor Lockheed Martin has awarded BAE Systems in Nashua contract to provide key autonomy and artificial intelligence capabilities that aim to advance the effectiveness of tactical robotic air and ground vehicles. The goal of DARPA’s Squad X is to design, develop, and validate autonomous system prototypes and equip them with novel sensing tools and off-the-shelf technologies.

Franklin Pierce University is partnering with Millyard Bank in Nashua to allow the bank’s employees and clients, as well as their families, to enroll in online undergraduate and graduate-level programs and receive a 20% discount on tuition. Franklin Pierce University offers 31 different online programs in the College of Business, the College of Health & Natural Sciences, and the College of Liberal Arts & Social Sciences.

Rochester Rotary Club recently delivered $2,400 in gift cards purchased at local restaurants to health care heroes working on the front lines of the coronavirus pandemic. Rochester Rotary Club President Al Johnson initiated the campaign dubbed Rochester Rotary Gives.

The NH Drinking Water and Groundwater Advisory Commission is targeting up to $2 million from the Drinking Water and Groundwater Trust Fund for grants to protect public water supply sources in 2020. The Wright Museum of WWII in Wolfeboro will feature Vietnam: The Real War -- A Photographic History from the Associated Press. The photographs will be on display from July 1 through Sept. 27. The exhibit includes 50 large format photos from the Archives of the Associated Press taken during the 1960s and 70s.

The U.S. Census Bureau, in coordination with federal, state and local health officials, resume the distribution of 2020 Census questionnaire packets in areas where the majority of households do not receive mail at their physical address. The Bureau began hand-delivering materials on March 15, but suspended all fieldwork on March 18 due to the pandemic. Temporary field staff have been trained to observe all social distancing protocols and follow the most current federal health and safety guidelines.
