Maria Devlin was named president and CEO of Families in Transition-New Horizons, one of the largest organizations in NH providing shelter, affordable housing, food, and supportive services for homeless families and individuals. She assumes her responsibilities on June 15. She currently serves as CEO of the American Red Cross for Northern New England. Prior to that, she was interim executive director and director of public affairs for the Children’s Alliance of NH.

The NH Department of Environmental Services awarded Absolute Resource Associates of Portsmouth primary accreditation for testing PFAS in drinking water. This makes ARA the first and only NH-based laboratory certified to test for PFAS in NH.

Community health centers in NH were awarded $2,404,930 to expand COVID-19 testing. The funding is part of $583 million that was distributed nationally to community health centers as part of the Paycheck Protection Program and Health Care Enhancement Act.

The Newburyport Bank Charitable Foundation donated $2,500 to the Community Action Partnership of Strafford County. Funds will be used to provide assistance to those in Strafford County affected by the COVID-19 crisis.

The Way Home in Manchester hired Lindsey Lussier as a housing advocate. Prior to joining The Way Home, Lussier served as NH regional field director for the 2020 presidential campaign of U.S. Sen. Bernie Saunders of Vermont.

The Virtual Learning Academy Charter School in Exeter is launching a new online elementary program for students in grades 4 and 5. The program will start by offering language arts, math, technology (coding), and Spanish courses taught by certified and experienced online instructors.

Franklin Savings Bank in Franklin purchased $15,000 in CDFA tax credits to support the NH Nonprofit Response Fund, which provides nonprofit organizations up to $100,000 to meet the needs of the state’s most vulnerable residents, as well as individuals serving on the front lines during the coronavirus pandemic.

REI in North Conway is offering curbside pickup and zero-contact bike shop services where customers schedule an appointment for maintenance or repair services and securely drop off their bike outside the store.

Hannaford Supermarkets plans to hire about 2,000 associates at stores throughout its five-state territory, including Maine, NH, Vermont, New York, and Massachusetts in an effort to support stores, existing associates, and customers, as well as providing additional capacity for its curbside pickup service.
