In the Spotlight: Dan Morrison, CEO of Cambridge Trust-NH, was named 2019 Community Banker of the Year by the NH Bankers Association. Morrison, formerly founder, president, and CEO of Optima Bank & Trust, now Cambridge Trust, was chosen because of his involvement with several community organizations, including serving as a founding board member of the NH Veterans Count, Seacoast chapter.

The NH Liquor Commission is seeking qualified firms specializing in highway-oriented commercial real estate to provide brokerage, valuation and marketing services for the plan to sell and redevelop 88 acres of real estate along Interstate 95 in Hampton.

McLane Middleton in Manchester presented attorney Alexandra S. Cote with the firm's 15th annual Jack B. Middleton Pro Bono Legal Services Award, created in support of its efforts to help ensure that all NH citizens, regardless of resources, have access to the justice system.  The firm also recognized Janis E. Newburyport Bank in Portsmouth donated $1,500 to the Hampton Area Chamber of Commerce for its 12th Annual Toast to the Coast in April, which includes tastings from more than 35 restaurants, wineries, breweries and distilleries.

Plymouth State University was one of 119 U.S. colleges and universities to receive the Carnegie Foundation Carnegie Community Engagement Classification, an elective designation that honors institutional commitment to community engagement. This is the second time PSU has earned this distinction; the first was in 2010.

Franklin Savings Bank employees pledged more than $6,500 as part of their annual Pacesetter campaign for Granite United Way. The bank also provided a dollar for dollar match, making the total donation $13,132.

Merrimack County Savings Bank recently purchased $50,000 in tax credits through the NH Community Development Finance Authority in support of Nashua Soup Kitchen & Shelter. The investment will help renovate the former elementary school in Nashua, which is being converted into a homeless shelter with several units of permanent housing.
