ABC YPG Bowling Tournament 

In the Spotlight: The Associated Builders and Contractors NH/VT Chapter’s Young Professionals Group (ABC YPG) raised $11,500 in cash and a large number of toy donations at its annual charity bowling tournament. The group donated all proceeds from team registration fees, raffle ticket sales, donations from the construction industry companies in attendance, and event sponsorships to Toys for Tots, a program run by the United States Marine Corps Reserve that distributes toys to children whose parents cannot afford to buy them gifts for Christmas.

Associated Builders & Contractors NH/VT Chapter (ABC) also recently named the winners of its 21st annual Excellence in Construction Awards, which honor all construction team members, including the contractor, owner, architect and engineer. The winning projects were judged on complexity, attractiveness, unique challenges overcome, completion time, workmanship, innovation, safety and cost.

The ABC also awarded the Chairman’s Award to Cianbro Corporation for its Sarah Mildred Long bridge replacement.

The Greater Concord Chamber of Commerce named Emily Marsh its events and marketing coordinator. Marsh will be responsible for the logistics, marketing and execution of events, including Citizen of the Year Award, Tri-City Expo, Business Showcase, and Pinnacle Awards.

The Capital Region Food Program’s Year-Round Distribution Project distributed more than 5.2 tons of non-perishable food to 23 social services agencies, food pantries, and churches in the greater Concord area. The November distribution supports the efforts of the partner agencies with their Thanksgiving initiatives.

Heartwood Media Inc., a video and television production company based in Manchester, recently added Jenna Nash to their team as a production assistant. A recent film/video production graduate from Pratt Institute Brooklyn, NY, she has directed and shot several shorts.

During its third and final grant cycle of 2019, People’s United Community Foundation, the philanthropic arm of People’s United Bank, N.A., awarded $84,000 to organizations in NH that are having a positive impact on the communities it serves.  Funding was allocated to 13 non-profits.

The Bedford Knights of Columbus and members of St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church in Bedford recently joined together to raise $13,900 during their 2019 Turkey Drive to support the NH Food Bank, a program of Catholic Charities New Hampshire.
