In the Spotlight: The 20th Annual Eversource Walk & 5K Run for Easterseals NH at Veterans Park in Manchester attracted a crowd of 2,500 participants, vendors, and volunteers and raised $230,000.

Newburyport Bank donated $2,000 to the Seacoast Science Center in support of their “Atlantic Grill Music by the Sea” Series, and the Bank’s Two Star Corporate Membership. The Seacoast Science Center is a non-profit marine science education organization located within Odiorne Point State Park in Rye.

Primary Bank in Bedford was named to the 2019 DepositAccounts.com Top 200 list of Healthiest Banks in America.  Primary Bank ranked first in NH and New England for 2018 and 2019 and for the second year in a row made the top 200. It also achieved an “A+” health rating, according to DepositAccounts.com, ranking it as one of the healthiest FDIC insured banks inationwide.

The City of Rochester filled two key positions: Katie Ambrose has accepted the position of deputy city manager and Michael Scala assumed his new role as the city's economic development director.

Northeast Resource Recovery Association hired Reagan Bissonnette as its next executive director. Bissonnette is currently the senior director of easement stewardship and counsel at the Society for the Protection of NH Forests. Prior to joining the Forest Society, Reagan practiced law as a corporate attorney at Ropes & Gray, LLP, a global Boston-based law firm.

Merrimack County Savings Bank contributed $10,000 to HOMEteam in support of funding for home ownership educational programs throughout New Hampshire. Through a series of workshops and one-on-one counseling, among many other resources, HOMEteam helps first-time home buyers and renters interested in ownership, offering insight on protecting and preserving the home investment.

Bank of America announced the expansion of its Student Leader program to include high school juniors and seniors from the Manchester area. Student Leaders offers young people an opportunity to build their workforce and leadership skills through a paid summer internship at a local nonprofit, and the ability to help improve their communities.

Concord Regional Visiting Nurse Association recently marked its 25th anniversary of the The Hospice House, on Pleasant Street, which opened on April 4, 1994, and was the first of its kind in New Hampshire. Concord Regional VNA, which will mark its 120th anniversary this year, has provided hospice services to residents of the greater Concord community since 1981. Prior to opening Hospice House, hospice care was provided in patients’ homes, and in hospitals or nursing homes. Hospice House offers patients who are terminally ill and their loved ones a comfortable place with skilled care for a peaceful end-of-life journey.
