In the Spotlight: Roedel Companies in Wilton opened Homewood Suites by Hilton Boston-Marlborough on March 20. The hotel, located off Interstate-495 in Berlin, Massachusetts is the first extended-stay hotel to open in the Boston-Marlborough market in more than 10 years. The 105-room, all-suite hotel, offers amenities such as a fully-equipped kitchen with full-size refrigerator, microwave, stovetop and dishwasher, 43-inch HiDef TV, connecting rooms, dining table and chairs, ergonomic desk chairs and weekday newspaper delivery. Mobility and hearing accessible suites are also available.

University of New Hampshire brewing science students are getting a jump on the summer ice cream season by brewing a strawberry frappe IPA using strawberries that are part of the NH Agricultural Experiment Station’s organic strawberry breeding program and season extension research. Strawberry Milkman will be served at the lab’s open house Tuesday, April 2 and Wednesday, April 3 from noon to 3 p.m. at 34 Sage Way, Durham. .

Hooksett  Acting Town Administrator Don Winterton resigned March 28 as both administrator and District 5 Councilor effective April 3. The Town Council will be holding a special meeting on Wednesday, April 3 at 6 p.m. at Town Hall Chambers regarding the acting town administrator and town administrator search update.

Newburyport Bank has donated $1,000 to Big Brothers Big Sisters of NH’s 10thAnnual Stiletto Sprint.  The event, held in Portsmouth, is scheduled for Saturday, June 15.  It’s organized by the Young Philanthropists for Mentoring (YP4M), a Big Brothers Big Sisters initiative that promotes a commitment to philanthropy among the next generation of professionals in the Greater Seacoast.

Located in Rochester, Monarch School brings individuals with intellectual, physical, medical and behavioral disabilities into the mainstream of everyday life through a nurturing environment that helps special-needs individuals successfully transition to school and the community.

Gary Calhoun has been named head coach of the Keene SwampBats after serving as associate head coach during the team’s run to the New England Collegiate Baseball League playoffs. Calhoun replaces Lyndon Coleman, who was unable to return after moving up to head coach at Pasco-Hernando State College.

Parkland’s Center for Wound Healing and Hyperbaric Medicine has been recognized with the Robert A. Warriner III, M.D., Center of Excellence award for continued excellence in wound healing.  This is the fifth consecutive year the Derry hospital to received the award.

The NH Food Bank in Manchester recently received a $75,000 Healthy Food Fund Grant from the Harvard Pilgrim Health Care Foundation. This critical funding, which will be disbursed over three years, will allow the Food Bank to host weekly, seasonal, fresh food pantries in Manchester; to substantially increase distribution of locally grown, fresh produce to those in need in northern NH; and host two mobile food pantries in western NH.

TEAM Exeter (Town Exeter Arts Music) is joining forces with the Exeter LitFest steering committee, Water Street Bookstore, and The Southern District YMCA to present an opening night First Friday celebration at Exeter Town Hall to kick off the the First Annual Exeter LitFest.  There will be a Costume Party, a Romany-style dance demonstration and music from Groove Lounge with a special appearance from Exeter Drum Works' Jeff Beck.
