In the Spotlight: Service Credit Union in Portsmouth presented its 2018 Employee of the Year awards. Ling Lin, internal auditor at the credit union’s corporate headquarters in Portsmouth, was named Stateside Back Office Employee of the Year. Aazlynn Gagne was named stateside contact center Employee of the Year, and Josh Gagne, a senior financial services representative at the Portsmouth branch, was named Stateside Branch Employee of the Year.

Clark Insurance hired Kevin Marceau to join the employee benefits department as an account manager.

Eversource is joining Great American Downtown of Nashua’s efforts to assist families enrolled in the Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program. Eversource recently donated $2,500 for staffing and equipment for the organization's Granite State Market Match, which helps low-income families purchase fresh, locally grown food at the farmers market.

NH Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselors Association, a provider of continuing education for addiction professionals and located in Concord, received $4,000 from the Meredith Village Savings Bank Fund of the NH Charitable Foundation to create a series of trainings incorporating military culture as it relates to substance misuse. This will be combined with a $1,000 grant from Mascoma Savings Bank.

Rivier University in Nashua will award 10 Project Advance scholarships to licensed practical nurses employed at Catholic Charities at ehabilitation and long-term care nursing centers. This will enable recipients to earn an Associate of Science in Nursing degree. Scholarships are made possible through a $300,000 gift by a Rivier donor.

Spaulding Youth Center in Northfield was awarded a $60,000 grant by the NH Charitable Foundation through the Community Grants program for multi-year operating support. The organization also received a $10,000 grant from People's United Community Foundation, the philanthropic arm of People’s United Bank.

Applebee’s of Concord hosted a Tip-A-Cop fundraiser where members of the Concord Police Department served as ‘celebrity waiters’ with 100 percent going to Special Olympics, netting $1,100.

The newly expanded Hood Museum of Art at Dartmouth in Hanover, which reopened to the public in January, has received support from the Henry Luce Foundation.

NH Charitable Foundation in Concord launched a scholarship to help Bethlehem residents pursue career training. The Fresh Tracks Medallion Fund is open to learners of any age who are training in the trades or pursuing certifications in emerging technical sectors.

St. Mary’s Bank in Manchester will make down-payment assistance grants of up to $15,000 available to eligible first-time homebuyers starting this spring. Grants can be used for down-payment and closing costs as well as homebuyer counseling and rehabilitation assistance.
