In the Spotlight: The certified accounting firm of Leone, McDonnell & Roberts, PA  has hired Elizabeth Conner and Joe Payne. Conner is a senior accountant who ran a practice on the Seacoast and has 30 years of extensive tax and accounting experience. She works in the Wolfeboro office, is a licensed CPA and a member of the NH Society of CPAs. Payne is a recent graduate of Plymouth State University where he was named to the President’s List and was a member the Delta Mu Delta International Business Honor Society.

Northway Bank in Portsmouth promoted of Channele Wingrove to branch manager of the bank’s Campton location. Wingrove joined the bank with more than 10 years of customer service experience and most recently served as assistant branch manager of Northway Bank’s Plymouth branch.

Bank of New Hampshire promoted Megan Wells to assistant office manager of their Gorham office. Wells joined the bank in 2013 and has more than five years’ experience in the banking industry with a broad knowledge of retail banking, business banking and customer service.

The Childhood Cancer Lifeline 2019 event at Pats Peak in Henniker raised more than $27,500 to support local families who have a child battling cancer. Skiers, riders and employees donated at cashier locations, dinner attendees bid on silent and live auction items and Pats Peak donated a portion of their March midweek online lift ticket sales.

Bangor Savings Bank recently ranked #22 in the first-ever World’s Best Banks rankings released by Forbes. The only Maine-based bank in the rankings, Bangor Savings recently opened a new operations and corporate campus in Bangor, Maine, has 58 branches in Maine and New Hampshire and more than 950 employees.

Lakes Region Community College and Laconia Adult Education are collaborating in an effort to assist individuals looking to complete their high school equivalency.  Funded by a grant, this free, thirteen-week guided program will help participants earn their HiSET.  In additional to helping students prepare for the HiSET tests, this program will also help participants identify potential career paths around the Lakes Region and assist them in pursuing their career goals.

Lancaster Wastewater Treatment Facility Chief Operator Tim Bilodeau was honored by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency with a 2018 Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator of the Year Excellence Award for his outstanding work.

Winchester Wastewater Treatment Facility was recently selected by U.S. Environmental Protection Agency for a 2018 Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant Excellence Award. Led by Rick Meleski, plant manager, the facility was one of five in New England acknowledged for exemplary performance during 2018.
