In the Spotlight: Carollynn Lear of Dunbarton was named assistant commissioner of the NH Dept. of Revenue Administration (DRA). She will testify at public hearings on behalf of DRA; oversee information technology projects; supervise staff in the administrative unit; advise senior leadership on matters of tax, personnel, project management and contract management; and manage the business office, legal bureau, hearings bureau, human resources, internal auditor, and the tax policy and legislative group. Lear has been with DRA for nearly five years.

NeighborWorks Southern New Hampshire recently recognized Richard Clegg of Manchester for six years of service to the non-profit organization as a member of the board of directors.

Pickering House Inn, an historic inn opening this summer in Wolfeboro, appointed Madison Dullea to serve as assistant manager. In this position, Dullea will be the primary contact with guests and event clients when the Inn and The Barn at Pickering House begin accepting reservations in early May 2018.

Tom Boucher of Great NH Restaurants, owner and CEO of T-BONES, CJ’s, Cactus Jack’s and the Copper Door, has plans to develop a new restaurant concept on Route 101, at the former location of Shorty’s Mexican Restaurant. The restaurant will undergo extensive renovations with plans to open in 2019.

SEE Science Center in Manchester received a $50,000 grant from the Entrepreneurs Fund of NH. The grant will fund a genome exhibit. The Science Center is developing special programming to stimulate interest and develop hands-on learning opportunities called BiologYou.

Opera North in Lebanon received Opera America's 2018 Innovation Grant. The grant will support Opera North's work with the National Park Service to develop the historic Blow-Me-Down Farm in Cornish into a new national destination for arts and culture.
