 Rivier University has appointed Dr. John Parker vice president for finance and administration. With more than 20 years’ experience in finance, accounting and higher education business administration, Parker serves as the university’s chief financial officer and a key member of the president’s cabinet.

Stacey Chiocchio, a Grantham resident and community citizenship manager at Hypertherm was recently honored by the regional nonprofit Vital Communities as its 2017 Volunteer of the Year. Chiocchio has been contributing to Vital Communities for more than six years.

Members First Credit Union has pledged to support critical community programs with funds from an unexpected rebate. The National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) recently announced anticipated reimbursements totaling $600 to $800 million to federally-insured credit unions nationwide. Members First Credit Union has pledged to donated 100 percent of its NCUA refund to local charities.

Hyndsight Vision Systems, a Peterborough vision technology firm was named one of Construction Equipment Magazine’s Top 100 Products for 2017. The magazine’s annual awards recognize innovations in the construction industry, highlighting manufacturers who are investing in research and development, which offer equipment users great productivity, efficiency, and safety.

New England College’s president, Michele Perkins was elected to the National Association of Independent Colleges and Universities (NAICU) board. The board appointment is a three-year term that will commence at the 2018 NAICU Annual Meeting in Washington, D.C., in February.

L. Bean’s third chairman, Shawn Gorman is the newest member of the University of New Hampshire Foundation’s board of directors. The UNH Foundation, which was established in 1989, was created to build private support for professional experience and passion for the university to strengthen and enhance academic quality and faculty excellence.

Laura Hartz and Nathaniel Morse were recently welcomed to Orr & Reno, a Concord law firm. Hart’s practice will focus on environment law, land use, and business law. Morse’s will concentrate on environmental law, energy law, and litigation.
