 This Week’s Spotlight: Meredith Village Savings Bank hired Daniel Dolan as VP, commercial lending in the bank’s Seacoast mortgage, business & personal loan office in Hampton Falls. Dolan has more than 31 years of community banking experience, previously working as VP, commercial lender, among other leadership roles, at Eastern Bank. He is a board member for both Coastal Economic Development Corp. in Hampton and Seacoast Youth Services in Seabrook.

John Whelan, senior director of recruiting at Alexander Technology Group in Bedford, was elected to a three-year term on the board of directors for the NH High Tech Council in Manchester. Alexander Technology Group, a portfolio company of BANK W Holdings, LLC, is a technology staffing company with offices in Bedford, Portsmouth and Massachusetts.

Construction is complete for the new Bonneville Used Car Superstore on Daniel Webster Highway in Manchester. The 10,000-square-foot facility includes a sales floor, five service bays and three reconditioning. The design-build project was completed by Dennis Mires PA, The Architects in Manchester and Langley Construction in Goffstown.

The Community College System of NH appointed three members to its board of trustees: Cheryl Kahn, who taught business and computers in the Monadnock school system for more than 20 years; Sharon Harris, an educational consultant and a life and career coach with Seacoast-based firm Partnered Success College and Life Skills Coaching LLC; and Pamela Laflamme, community development director for the City of Berlin. Trustees are nominated by the Governor and confirmed by the Executive Council.

EVR Advertising in Manchester hired Sarah Soucy as media coordinator. Soucy, a recent graduate of Quinnipiac University in Connecticut, will assist with the media planning and buying process, marketing research and client services.

EverPresent, which digitizes and photos and videos, began offering its consulting services at Southport Printing Company in Portsmouth. EverPresent digitizes all old media formats, including VHS tapes, 35mm slides, photo albums and 8mm film. This is the company’s third consulting service location in NH, along with locations at the Mall at Rockingham Park in Salem and Framers Market in Manchester.

Great Bay Community College (GBCC), which has campuses in Portsmouth and Rochester, will begin offering associate degrees in history and English starting this Fall semester. GBCC added degrees in fine arts and psychology in the past two years.

The Ivy League Advising Group in Tilton, a retirement planning firm for individuals and businesses, hired Peter Laufenberg as an advisor. Laufenberg spent several years in higher education before transitioning to the financial service industry, previously working as manager of field experience at Plymouth State University. He was included in the Union Leader’s 40 under 40 class of 2016.

Lake Sunapee Bank in Newport raised $2,000 for CATCH Neighborhood Housing in Concord through the bank’s participation in Bankers’ Bank Northeast’s annual Charitable Golf Tournament. Participating banks enter a drawing to receive a contribution from funds raised through the tournament, which they donate to a nonprofit of their choice. CATCH provides affordable housing and development in Merrimack County.

Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics and Pennichuck Corporation, both in Merrimack, reached an agreement to secure bids to extend the Litchfield Public Water System to allow for the connection of up to 360 Litchfield homes and businesses that are currently on private wells. The New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services found Saint-Gobain liable for cleanup of groundwater contamination around its factory in Merrimack.

New Morning Schools in Bedford, which provides year-round childcare and education services, received financing from the Capital Regional Development Council (CRDC) in Concord to renovate an existing part of the school and add on 7,000-square-feet of new space. CRDC partnered with Eastern Bank to provide financing for the project, using a combination of an SBA loan and USDA funding. Sullivan Construction in Bedford began renovations in July 2015 and completed the project in March 2016.

Newforma in Manchester donated backpacks and school supplies to Child Health Services at Manchester Community Health Center for its 2016 back-to-school backpack drive. The company’s donation will outfit over 75 kids with supplies for the upcoming school year. Newforma develops project information management software for architecture, engineering, and construction firms.

Rath, Young and Pignatelli PC in Concord hired Lawrence S. Smith to its litigation practice group. Smith has over 30 years of litigation experience, previously working at Ransmeier & Spellman PC., in Concord and as a lieutenant in the United States Navy Judge Advocate General’s Corps.
