This Week’s Spotlight: Plymouth State University hired Eric Spieth as director of the Enterprise Center, a business incubator run through a partnership between the university and the Grafton County Economic Development Council, also in Plymouth. Spieth has 10 years of experience in higher education, previously working at Central Oregon Community College as a professor and program director for the college’s Center for Entrepreneurial Excellence and Development. He also has 13 years of private sector business experience, including three years as CEO of Mad River Brewing in California.


Catholic Medical Center in Manchester received a Safe Sleep Leader designation in the National Safe Sleep Hospital Certification Program. The award, presented by Cribs for Kids, recognizes hospitals that aim to reduce infant sleep related deaths by promoting safe sleep practices and providing education on infant sleep safety.

Families First Health & Support Center in Portsmouth hired Cindi Shanley as senior programs coordinator. Shanley previously worked for numerous Seacost health agencies, including as director of senior friends at Portsmouth Regional Hospital and as director of Portsmouth Senior Care.

Beginning in the fall, Great Bay Community College in Portsmouth will offer an online program for its criminal justice associate degree. The program was a hybrid model of both online and in-class instruction.This is the first online associate degree program offered at Great Bay.

The Harbor Care Health and Wellness Center Dental Clinic, operated by Harbor Homes in Nashua, received a $10,000 grant from the Northeast Delta Dental Foundation in Concord to purchase and integrate electronic dental records and clinical management software.

Holy Rosary Credit Union (HRCU) in Rochester hired Aimee Doherty as assistant VP of operations. Prior to HRCU, Doherty worked as an account relationship manager at Synergent in Maine, which provides services to credit unions.

All five locations of Immediate Care of Southern New Hampshire in Nashua, Hudson, Merrimack and Pelham received National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) Patient-Centered Connected Care Recognition. The designation is given to sites that provide outpatient care for patients experiencing acute/episodic illness, but do not act as the patient’s primary care provider. NCQA is a nonprofit accreditation agency that certifies a range of health care organizations.

McLane Middleton PA hired Tyler P. Haynes as an associate in its corporate department. Haynes, who will work in the firm’s Manchester office, previously worked at Goldman Sachs in New York as an associate in its asset management group.

Nesco Resource, a national staffing firm headquartered in Ohio, opened its first NH office at 402 Amherst Street, Suite 301 in Nashua. The new location, which will staff for the engineering, IT and skilled manufacturing fields, will cover Nashua, Manchester, Concord and Portsmouth.

New Hampshire Mutual Bancorp (NHMB) promoted Danielle Wakefield to corporate reporting officer. Wakefield, most recently corporate senior financial analyst, will oversee regulatory reporting, financial reporting and budgeting for NHMB and its subsidiaries, Meredith Village Savings Bank, Merrimack County Savings Bank in Concord and MillRiver Wealth Management.

S. W. Cole Engineering, Inc. in Somersworth rehired Matthew T. Taylor as a senior geologist. Taylor, who worked for S.W.COLE as a project manager from 1998 until 2007, most recently worked as a senior project manager at AMEC Foster Wheeler, an international consulting and engineering firm.

Newton Kershaw III, CEO and head of acquisitions & finance at Elm Grove Companies in Manchester, was elected to the Board of Corporators for Sugar River Bancorp, the mutual holding company for Sugar River Bank in Newport.
