This Week’s Spotlight: Bernstein Shur, with NH offices in Manchester, hired Ovide Lamontagne as a shareholder. Lamontagne, the 2012 Republican nominee for governor of NH, will work in commercial litigation at Bernstein Shur, as well as provide corporate counsel to the firm’s clients. He began his private practice in 1986, and has served as legal counsel for the NH State Senate and as chairman of the NH State Board of Education.
C&S Wholesale Grocers Inc. in Keene will shift to cage-free eggs for its private label brands by 2025. The remainder of the eggs procured by C&S, which are supplied to its grocery partners, will be aligned with the retailers’ cage-free policies as well.

The NH Community Loan Fund in Concord received the Presidents’ Community Partner award from Campus Compact for NH in Concord, a statewide consortium of college and university presidents and private sector partners. The Community Loan Fund received the award for its partnership with Manchester Community College, including helping 15 students save a total of $52,000 for tuition and fees through Individual Development Accounts where students' contributions receive were matched 8:1. When students contribute $500, the maximum, the fund provides $4,000.

Cookson Strategic Communications (CSC) in Manchester, a marketing and government relations firm, hired Teresa Dainesi as project manager. Dainesi was previously VP of public affairs and marketing for Elliot Health System and most recently worked as a marketing consultant and freelance writer. She will oversee CSC’s account with the NH High Tech Council, also in Manchester.

Marketplace New England Inc. in Concord, an online shop for locally made gifts and artisanal specialty food and wine, is a Boston Metro Area regional winner of Innovations 4 Entrepreneurs. The competition, sponsored by Comcast Business, is for small business using technology to fuel growth. Six national winners will be chosen from the 30 regional winners.

Meredith Village Savings Bank granted $5,000 to the Skatepark of Plymouth for an ongoing expansion project. The park gets 2,300 K-12 students and 5,000 undergraduates from Plymouth State University visiting each year.

David Merrick became a small business mentor for the Merrimack Valley Chapter of SCORE, an arm of the U.S. Small Business Administration that provides free business advice and counseling to existing and prospective small businesses. Merrick, who has 35 years of experience in the computer industry, most recently worked as CEO of BIGraphics in Nashua, a large format printer he founded in 1996 and sold in 2014.
