The Harvard Pilgrim Health Care Foundation, headquartered in Mass., awarded more than $2 millio in grants to almost 1,000 nonprofit organizations in Mass., Maine, and NH. The recipients of the Foundation's grant support the Foundation's effots to combat childhood obesity, address health disparities affecting diverse populations, and support healthy communities through grant contribution and community service. The Foundation has distributed over $125 million in funds throughout the three states.

The Greater Hudson Chamber of Commerce in Hudson hosted its 44th Annual Awards Dinner to honor those that go "Above & Beyond" for the community. The dinner was held at The Castleton in Windham. Governor Maggie Hassan spoke at the event. Those honored with awards include: Linda Kipnes for Citizen of the Year; Heather Hardy, Tara Hardy, and Susan Li for Junior Citizens; Sousa Realty & Development Co. in Hudson for Small Business of the Year; and Fairview Healthcare in Hudson for Large Business of the Year.

Colby-Sawyer College, located in New London, celebrated the Ware Student Center's Grand Reopening in March, celebrating the expanded dining hall. The reopening featured remarks, refreshments, tours, and entertainment. The project was about $7 million and includes 12,752 square feet of renovated space and 14,020 square feet of new construction.

Public Service of NH in Manchester named Bow resident Terry Large the company's new director of customer operations. Large has over 29 years of experience with PSNH and its parent corporation Northeast Utilities. Large will be responsible for statewide electrical operations and maintenance.

Hypertherm, a U.S.-based manufacturer of advanced cutting systems located in Lebanon, celebrated the grand opening of a new 160,000 square foot manufacturing facility in Lebanon. The space is expected to facilitate the creation of up to 500 new jobs for NH, including advanced machinist and engineering positions.

Sequoya Technologies in Peterborough donated $1,400 to the Peterborough Human Services Fund, which is an all-volunteer organization that provides emergency support for those who need crisis services. The organization raises and adminsters funds that support The Peterborough Resident Emergency Aid Program and The Peterborough Food Pantry.
