The Eagle Mountain House in Jackson was sold for $2.15 million to Florida developer George Heaton of Heaton Companies by the Eagle Mountain House Liquidating Trust, which is composed of the former condominium owners of the hotel. Heaton plans to invest $3 million in improvements to the hotel over the next three months, with renovations to the first floor and upgrades of all 96 guest rooms.

Cheshire Medical Center/Cheshire Health Foundation in Keene announced four new members to its board of trustees: William Kelleher, plant manager for the Timken Company in Keene; Mary Ann Kristiansen, founder and executive director of the Hannah Grimes Center in Keene; Geoffrey Molina, VP, internal audit, of The Main Street America Group in Keene; and Gregg Tewksbury, president and chief executive officer of Savings Bank of Walpole in Walpole.

Jonathan Ring, president of Jones & Beach Engineers, Inc. in Stratham was elected for a second term as chairman of the Exeter Chamber of Commerce. He has served on the chamber's board of directors since 2004.

The nonprofit Families in Transition (FIT) in Manchester began a construction project at its millyard facility in Manchester that will install a new insulated roof for the building's tenants. Funding for the $132,000 project was made possible through the Samuel P. Hunt Foundation and the Enterprise Energy Fund administered by the NH Community Loan Fund.

Watts Water Technologies Inc. in Franklin broke ground on their new 30,000 square foot facility in Franklin. The company previously manufactured some of its water control products in China but moved its operations back to NH, which will bring more than 100 new jobs to the area.

The Humane Society for Greater Nashua was awarded a $100,000 grant from the Red Acre Foundation in Stow, Mass. The funds will be used to purchase surgical supplies for spay and neuter surgeries and will help replenish the shelter's Abby Fund, a donor fund which helps provide medical care for ill and injured shelter pets that would otherwise face euthanasia.

Cityside Management Corporation in Manchester appointed Clinton Alcorn as its chief business development officer.  Alcorn was formerly the head of Bank of America's field services organization.

Audi Stratham earned a 2011 Magna Society award and was recognized as one of the top 106 Audi dealerships in the U.S. The award acknowledges dealers that have outstanding customer service, strong sales, and exemplify the progressive attributes that characterize the Audi brand.

As of April 1, Appledore Engineering, a 24-year-old civil engineering firm in Portsmouth, officially changed its name to Tighe & Bond. In January, Appledore joined with the Tighe, a 220-person consulting firm with offices throughout New England.

Mt. Washington Valley Accommodations, the parent company of the Eastern Slope Inn in North Conway, Attitash Mountain Village in Bartlett, Oxen Yoke Inn in North Conway, and Attitash Marketplace Motel & Suites in Bartlett, received the 2011 All Star Award from Constant Contact, Inc., a national small business marketing advisor, for their outstanding marketing efforts.

The Grafton County Economic Development Council won a $731,000 grant from the U.S. Economic Development Administration to create a new business resource center in Plymouth. The new 10,250 square foot Enterprise Center will partner with Plymouth State University in Plymouth and will feature space for focus groups, sales skills development, and video production.

The shoe store Clarks opened in the Mall at Rockingham Park in Salem. In addition to Clarks, Lord&Taylor, H&M Men's, and Auntie Anne's have recently opened at the mall.

Parkland Medical Center in Derry opened the Parkland Center for Wound Healing and Hyperbaric Medicine. The new center will provide a comprehensive wound care services to patients with chronic or non-healing wounds. The 3,500 facility features two hyperbaric oxygen chambers and four treatment rooms.
