In the Spotlight: About 80 spectators cheered on 20 participants, including two Lincoln police officers, who plunged into a frigid, 45-degree pool at RiverWalk Resort at Loon Mountain. The daring divers, in the Plunge for the Park, raised about $1,000 to support the construction of the Lin-Wood Skate Park in Lincoln.

The Governor’s Excellence in Energy Efficiency Awards were presented at the state’s 10th annual energy conference. In the last 13 years, energy management efforts saved over $32 million through energy conservation and efficiency measures and by switching to lower-cost fuels. The Army National Guard’s Center Strafford Training Site was honored for its recent development of the State’s first net-zero facility; NH Dept. of Corrections was chosen for its energy efficiency work during recent improvements to its facilities; and Stacey Herbold organized an event at NH Dept. of Environmental Services for the past two years to bring awareness to the importance of vehicle tire pressure, which has a large impact on a fuel efficiency.

Proulx Oil & Propane is taking part in the Community Development Investment Program (CDIP) tax credit program supporting the new facility for Community Action Partnership of Strafford County new facility in Dover. CDIP offers NH businesses the opportunity to invest in projects in exchange for state tax credit of 75 percent of the donation.

DARCI Creative has hired Marisa Novello as an account coordinator for the all-inclusive marketing firm, which serves the New England area with comprehensive integrated marketing strategies. Novello worked as an intern at Woman’s Day Magazine and at Penguin Random House Publishing for 5 years.

Merchants Fleet Management has hired Andrew Camp as role of Reginal Sales Manager, and he will cover central and northern California. Rocky Petrone will lead the Merchants GuaranteedTRAC resale program.

The newly renovated and expanded Hood Museum of Art at Dartmouth will open to the public on January 26, 2019, following two years of construction. Designed by Tod Williams Billie Tsien Architects | Partners, the expanded museum ties together the College’s academic and research priorities with an emphasis on the arts at Dartmouth and is a hybrid of newly constructed facilities and restored and updated spaces from the original 1985 Charles Moore building.

Jennifer Chapman, director of guidance at Moultonborough Academy, has been recognized for her outstanding support of the Running Start program at Lakes Region Community College by the Community College System of NH. Since 1999 the Running Start Program has enabled students from participating high schools to take college colleges at a reduced rate while completing the requirements for high school graduation.
