The Big E a Big Win for LaBelle

For the 12th year in a row, LaBelle Winery in Amherst has earned several awards for its wines in the Eastern States Exposition “The Big E” Wine Competition in the categories of Best NH Grown Wine and Best NH Wine, as well as multiple gold, silver and bronze medals.

The Big E Wine Competition compares wines from all six New England states in several categories. All medal-winning wines are displayed in the Wine and Cheese Barn during the Eastern Sates Exposition agricultural fair, which will take place in West Springfield, Massachusetts, this year from Sept. 13 through Sept. 19. Award-winning wines will be available for purchase at the fair.

“We’re so pleased to have won these prestigious wine awards, most notably the awards for Best New Hampshire Wine and Best New Hampshire Grown Wine,” says Amy LaBelle, LaBelle Winery’s co-owner and winemaker. “We are serious about our winemaking and our mission to make the best wines available to our customers. The awards we have won at The Big E confirm that we are on the right track with our natural approach to winemaking, and that the love and passion that goes into our products is apparent to consumers.”

LaBelle’s Seyval Blanc won the 2019 award for Best New Hampshire Grown Wine, and the winery’s Dry Blueberry won the 2019 award for Best New Hampshire Wine. In total, LaBelle’s wines earned 13 awards in the 2019 competition. To learn more about LaBelle’s winning wines visit the Eastern States Exposition page on LaBelle Winery’s website.

The Big E is the sixth largest agricultural fair in the United States. It attracts more than 1.8 million visitors each year.
