Stay Work Play NH Receives National Science Foundation Grant

Published Tuesday Apr 10, 2012

Stay Work Play announced the organization will receive a five-year grant from the National Science Foundation. The grant is being administered by the NH Experimental Program to Stimulate Competitive Research (EPSCoR) at UNH.

We are very excited about being part of the EPSCoR grant, said Matt Cookson, treasurer of Stay Work Play's board of directors. This support will really assist Stay Work Play as we take the organization to the next level. Combined with our many corporate partners and their assistance, we are able to increase our reach, promote New Hampshire's value proposition, and drive home the message to our younger workers and students that this is a great place to stay, work, play, and innovate.

With the help of this grant, Stay Work Play will be able to conduct surveys of NH college students and young professionals similar to what was done through the University System of New Hampshire's 55% Initiative in 2007.

We are thrilled that because of the support of EPSCoR and the National Science Foundation, we will finally be able to answer the question, So how is NH doing?' when referring to where the state currently stands in terms of college and university students choosing to stay or leave New Hampshire after graduation, said Executive Director Kate Luczko.

In addition, the organization will begin promoting the Stay Work Play Challenge Grants program, a benefit participating employers offer to recently hired NH college and university graduates that contributes $8,000 towards a student's loan debt over the course of four years of employment with the participating employer.
