Single Digits Inc., a Bedford-based provider of high-speed internet access management software and support services acquired Airwave Networks, a provider of wired and wireless internet access and digital TV to student housing and MDU properties. Airwave’s staff of over 150 employees will join the Single Digits team.

“The acquisition of Airwave Networks enables Single Digits to support our customers like never before— with unrivaled scalability in technology and a larger support team. The technology platform gives our customers a tremendous advantage in their market, with reduced operating costs and more resources available to their customers,” says Bob Goldstein, CEO of Single Digits.

Airwave’s nearly 120,000 student and MDU customers will now have access to Single Digits’ Network Operations Center (NOC), multi-language support service and software.

Bill Rinard, CEO of Airwave Networks, which launched 15 years ago, adds, “We were approached by many different companies, and ultimately felt that Single Digits was the best fit for our customers and employees. Their innovative software platform, 24/7 support, and extensive NOC capabilities offer tremendous benefits. As the Wi-Fi hospitality leader, providing over 200 million unique authentications per year, we were convinced that Single Digits has the technology and capacity to handle the demands of our customer base and provide top-notch service.”

Airwave has served student housing and MDU properties in 44 states as well as Canada. With a dedicated technical staff of engineers experienced in RF analysis, networking, web applications and software engineering—along with recent developments in integrating IOT into networks—Airwave has provided property owners and managers with the ability to offer the technologically advanced amenities to residents of student housing and apartments.
