Stay Work Play is now accepting nominations for its sixth-annual Rising Stars Award program and is ready to recognize a new class of exceptional young people, companies and organizations, and programs. The Rising Stars Awards will accept nominations through July 15. The competition also invites eligible college students to create and share 15-second videos as part of College Student of the Year nominations.
The Rising Stars Awards are an initiative of Stay Work Play in partnership with New Hampshire Public Radio (NHPR) to celebrate and recognize remarkable young workers and college students in the Granite State as well as the companies and initiatives that go the extra mile to recruit and retain them. It includes six awards:

  • College Student of the Year, which honors a New Hampshire college student who is an academic rising star and is giving back to the community;
  • Young Professional of the Year, which honors an outstanding professional between the ages of 18 and 40 who works and lives in New Hampshire;
  • Civic Leader of the Year, which honors a person who, through his or her volunteerism, philanthropy or community involvement, demonstrates a commitment to civic participation, strengthening the community, and developing personal leadership capacity to make New Hampshire a better place for future generations;
  • Coolest Company for Young Professionals, which honors companies in New Hampshire that create environments to attract and retain young professionals;
  • Leadership Development Program of the Year, which honors an innovative program initiated and conducted by a New Hampshire organization aimed at a young professional audience to propel personal and professional growth; and
  • Young Entrepreneur of the Year, which was added last year, honors a young entrepreneur who dedicates his or her time to starting and/or operating a new business, is making a positive contribution to the state’s economy and adds community vibrancy.

“We look forward to recognizing the standout people and companies who understand the importance of making New Hampshire a great place to set down roots,” said Kate Luczko, Stay Work Play’s executive director. “Past winners have gone on to accomplish incredible things and continue to nurture a positive economic and cultural climate for young professionals.” To nominate a person, company or program, visitstayworkplay.org/risingstarsawards for complete rules, nomination materials and a sample College Student of the Year Award video.
