Peter Ramsey Named Citizen of Year

For the first time since 1954, the Greater Manchester Chamber Citizen of the Year Celebration is going virtual. On July 15 at 6:30 p.m., the chamber will honor Peter Ramsey, president & CEO of The Palace Theatres as its next Citizen of the Year in an online presentation.

For 20 years, Ramsey’s name has been synonymous with the historic Palace Theatres. With the addition of The Spotlight Room, Forever Emma Studios and The Rex Theatre, he has established the organization as a leading arts organization. His creation of the youth theatre program, which welcomed about 570 children in 2019, helps build confidence in children and create future generations of performers and audience members alike.

This virtual event will be a new and innovative way for chamber members, Palace Theatre supporters, and friends, family and colleagues of Ramsey to tune in to celebrate his accomplishments and his dedication to Manchester. It also serves as a way to support the Palace Theatres at a time of great challenge for the organization.
