Parent of Wentworth-Douglass Hospital Names Interim CEO

Anne KlibanskiThe Partners HealthCare board of directors named Anne Klibanski, MD, interim president and CEO, to succeed Dr. David Torchiana, who will retire at the end of April.

Partners HealthCare, the parent company of Wentworth-Douglass Hospital in Dover, is an integrated health system founded by Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Massachusetts General Hospital.

“Anne is one of our most experienced senior leaders as well as a distinguished clinician, researcher and teacher.” says Scott Sperling, chair of the Partners board. “She has broad responsibility for many of our key missions and is a proven leader and manager of complex efforts with extensive experience overseeing large clinical and executive teams, crafting a systemwide approach to future state radiology, pathology and anesthesiology structure and investments. Anne will work closely with hospital presidents, clinicians, researchers and administrative leadership to guide important system-wide initiatives such as Partners 2.0.”

Klibanski was recently recognized by Modern Healthcare as one of 2019’s Top 25 Women Leaders in health care.

The timeline for naming a permanent CEO is expected to take up to one year.
