NHBSR Launches Mental Wellness in the Workplace Program

New Hampshire Businesses for Social Responsibility has connected with mental health professionals to design a workplace wellness program to assist organizations in destigmatizing mental health, allocating resources to help employees and incorporating programs to manage stress.

Bear in Mind: Workplace Mental Wellness is designed to equip managers with the skills to have compassionate conversations with their employees about mental health, to develop organization-wide practices to reduce stress and manage and support a work-life balance, but respect those boundaries.

In partnership with NHBSR members Full Spectrum Wellness, Dartmouth Health, UNH, The Richards Group, as well as NAMI NH, National Council for Mental Wellbeing and others, a program of webinars, weekly stress management sessions and a wealth of wellness resources online has been created. Additionally, NHBSR will be offering two free mental health first aid trainings in December and May.

The Bear in Mind program launches on October 11 with “The Truth About Mental Wellbeing in the Workplace” – a free webinar starting at 11 a.m. Dartmouth Health’s Dr. Philip Adamo, MD, MPH, Fellow, American College of Occupational and Environmental, joined by National Alliance on Mental Illness, NH Executive Director Susan Stearns, and Todd Buffum, regional manager with Impact Fire Services, will discuss the truth about workplace mental wellbeing, provide local resources and present a business example of a company that has addressed these issues.
