NH Ranked #10 State for Entrepreneurs

New Hampshire was ranked as the #10 state where Americans are most likely to start a new business, according to a new AdvisorSmith study.

Western states accounted for the top 7 states, followed by Florida, and New England states Massachusetts and New Hampshire.

The study considered new businesses with at least one employee. The U.S. has approximately 6 million businesses with at least one employee, and the new creation rate for businesses is roughly 2.3 new businesses per 1,000 population.

AdvisorSmith analyzed states based upon data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics and the Census Bureau. The study ranked states with the highest number of new businesses per 1,000 population.
