NH Lottery Breaks Another Record

The NH Lottery met its all-time annual sales record—and there are still several weeks to go in the fiscal year. According to unaudited figures, NH Lottery sales exceeded the previous record high of $392.2 million by last month.

The NH Lottery, which has already generated a record $107 million in net profit this year, is on pace to generate $130 million in net profit, all of which supports education in NH. The previous record net profit was $105.5 million, which was set in Fiscal Year 2019.

Since its inception in 1964, the NH Lottery has contributed more than $2.2 billion to education. (Sales figures noted here do not include sales and revenue from sports betting.)

As of May 17, NH Lottery gross sales had exceeded $434 million, resulting in a greater than 30% jump over sales from a year ago. Lottery sales are averaging nearly $10.2 million per week across all games.

“This is an extraordinary milestone for the NH Lottery and we are extremely proud to be able to break our all-time sales record, while delivering on our promise to maximize revenue for education in NH,” said Charlie McIntyre, executive director, NH Lottery.

Nearly all NH Lottery games are running ahead of last year’s sales pace. A number of factors have contributed to the NH Lottery’s success in the past 12 months, including dueling Mega Millions and Powerball jackpots. KENO 603 is up nearly 52%  year over year, Gimme 5 is running more than 37% ahead of last year’s sales pace with scratch ticket sales up more than 21% year over year.

The NH Lottery is one of the fastest-growing lotteries in the entire country. Over the past five years, NH Lottery annual sales have jumped by more than $116 million or more than 37.5 percent.
