The New Hampshire Liquor Commission (NHLC) will open a new, 20,000 square-foot New Hampshire Liquor & Wine Outlet on March 6 in Rochester. The state-of-the-art, freestanding store, which is located within The Ridge Marketplace on Route 11 just off Exit 15 of the Spaulding Turnpike, features an enhanced shopping experience, more than 6,600 sizes and varieties of wines and spirits, and a strategic location providing exposure to more than 36,000 daily motorists. NHLC anticipates this new store generating $9.5 million in sales each year. This new, larger location will replace the existing Lilac Mall store on Route 125 in Rochester and the Route 11 site in Farmington.

“NHLC is extremely excited to open this brand-new New Hampshire Liquor & Wine Outlet in Rochester as part of our ongoing effort to strategically renovate or relocate our New Hampshire Liquor & Wine Outlets,” said NHLC Chairman Joseph Mollica. “At 20,000-square-feet, this new store provides a tremendous selection of products, new features and a comfortable shopping environment. We are constantly evaluating our stores looking for opportunities to optimize our sales success, which last year reached an all-time record of nearly $700 million. This new store will serve our customers in Farmington, Rochester, and neighboring communities in Maine, as well as the traveling public.”

The new Rochester store is situated within a popular retail hub, The Ridge Marketplace, which was developed by Waterstone Properties Group. The Ridge includes Marshall’s, Market Basket, PETCO, Famous Footwear and several other national retailers, in addition to a Walmart Supercenter abutting the property. The strategic location places the new store on one of the main routes for visitors traveling to New Hampshire’s Lakes Region and the White Mountains.

“Waterstone is thrilled to be celebrating the opening of the new, state-of-the-art New Hampshire Liquor and Wine Outlet at THE RIDGE,” said Josh Levy, Principal at Waterstone Retail. “This spectacular new store will be the fourth New Hampshire Liquor and Wine Outlet in our portfolio thanks to a successful, longstanding partnership with NHLC. Not only will this store cater to the many surrounding communities but will also be a stop along the way for thousands of year-round visitors destined for the lakes and mountain regions.”

The new Rochester New Hampshire Liquor & Wine Outlet will showcase special sections devoted to premium and ultra-premium spirits, high-end wine and temperature/humidity-controlled wine vaults, LED fixtures, spacious aisles, and iPad kiosks for perusing inventory and wine and food pairings. The new store will also feature an Outlet Price Busters and Wine Power Buys section.

Since 2012, NHLC has strategically relocated or renovated 28 New Hampshire Liquor & Wine Outlets. Just this past December, NHLC announced plans to open new New Hampshire Liquor & Wine Outlets in Colebrook and West Lebanon. Work is underway to construct a new, 22,000-square-foot New Hampshire Liquor & Wine Outlet in Portsmouth, which is accessible off Exit 6 of Interstate 95, as well as at the intersection of the Spaulding Turnpike and the Route 1 Bypass at the Portsmouth Traffic Circle. The store will be open during the construction process.
