NH High Tech Council Unveils 2013 Product of the Year Contenders

Published Thursday Oct 24, 2013

The NH High Tech Council’s panel of judges has selected four companies as the finalists who will vie for the 2013 Product of the Year (POY). These four companies will each receive a POY Judges Award at the November 12 event and will make a final pitch for their technology-related products or services to claim top honors in front of a participatory audience at the 8th annual Product of the Year event.

Judges Award Winners and finalists for 2013 are as follows:

  • BurstPoint Networks (Merrimack): VCP I-STREAM, the latest generation of BurstPoint’s Video Communications Platform (“VCP”) architecture, delivers technology for video streaming, recording and content management products. The result of years of development, I-STREAM offers a single box solution for delivering live video streaming, recording, publishing and content management. Through BurstPoint’s patented technology, I-STREAM supports over 1,000 high definition unicast/multicast video streams and 8HD or 24SD simultaneous meetings (both with People and Content) all from a single, 1U box.
  • Granite State Manufacturing (Manchester): Granite State Manufacturing employs a proprietary manufacturing process that lines all six surfaces of an intermodal cargo container with an advanced electronic textile sensor system and makes it easy to convert an existing intermodal cargo container into a tamper-proof system. The container is designed and built to withstand the rigorous thermal, vibrational, and torsional environments of land, sea, and air transportation. It can be retrofitted into existing container fleets and is said to detect breaches in the container down to 2mm in size. It also provides real-time data monitoring and alarm capabilities that can integrate with virtually any communications network.
  • Labsphere (North Sutton): Integral Light Measurement Software claims to be the first light measurement software in the industry to use platform-independent HTML5 technology. Integral does not need to be installed on customer devices or tethered to the light measurement equipment. Integral includes the ability to utilize Labsphere and non-Labsphere hardware in both an R&D and online production environment. The speed at which the light measurement scans are performed and data analyzed allows users to test more LEDs or products in a shorter amount of time, increasing productivity and efficiency, and shortening time to test and market lighting products.
  • Single Digits (Manchester): Single Digits’ Open Network Exchange is the hub connecting users to a network, database service providers and app creators to large networks of users, and property owners to new revenue streams from their network. Through the interface, network owners can peruse the menu of options and easily “flip the switch” to turn on new services in their network. These services include advertising partners to drive revenue, rewards programs to drive loyalty, or social media partners to drive ease of authentication and revenue options. Single Digits operates the network as a neutral party to authenticate users, store credentials, set up policy and assign bandwidth, determine pricing and payment, track clicks, and allocate and distribute revenue appropriately.

At the event, each finalists will discuss and demonstrate their product, and make a seven-minute presentation to the audience. Following the presentations, the winner will be selected based on both the judges’ evaluations and the audience vote. The winner will be announced at the conclusion of the event and will be awarded the prestigious Product of the Year crystal trophy, to be displayed at the Manchester-Boston Regional Airport.

The POY event will be held at SERESC in Bedford on Tuesday Nov. 12, beginning at 5:30 p.m.. Tickets are $85 for nonmembers, $55 for NHHTC members. Online registration is available at NHHTC.org.
