Need Help Managing Health Care Costs?

Published Monday Oct 31, 2011

Business NH Magazine's New Hampshire Health Care Summit 2011 will include a diverse panel of health care experts and two award-winning HR professionals to help business owners, managers and HR professionals find workable solutions to health care costs.

New Hampshire Health Care Summit 2011 will be held on November 2 at the Radisson Hotel Manchester, from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m.

The event will have three components. Kicking off the morning, Christie Hager, US Health and Human Services director for Region 1, will address the future of the Affordable Care Act, the possible Supreme Court reversal, and what that means for NH businesses moving forward. Following Hager, Steve Norton, executive director of the NH Center for Public Policy Studies, will provide an update on the state of health care in New Hampshire.

For the final hour, we ask attendees to bring questions.

A panel discussion, moderated by Norton, will discuss specifics of what businesses can do to control health care costs and manage employee health and wellness. Panelists include N. Lee Rucker, senior strategic policy advisor for the AARP Public Policy Institute in Washington, D.C.; Beth Roberts, VP of Emerging Markets, Harvard Pilgrim Health Care of New England; Barbara Couch, VP, Hypertherm in Lebanon; John R. Butterly, MD, FACP, FACC, executive VP of Medical Affairs at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Health, also in Lebanon; Steve Ahnen, president of the New Hampshire Hospital Association in Concord; and Mary Schiavoni, head of human resources at Adimab in Hanover.

We are asking for questions from business executives and owners, human resources directors, health care professionals, hospital administrators, insurance brokers, doctors, pharmacists, medical personnel, state government and others to create a lively discussion.

The Health Care Summit 2011 registration fee is $35 and includes breakfast. The summit is presented by Business NH Magazine and sponsored by AARP, Harvard Pilgrim Health Care of New England, Northeast Delta Dental and Rath, Young & Pignatelli.
