Mojalaki Country Club Reopens as Event Venue

Mojalaki Country Club opened its doors in 1920 as one of NH’s most challenging golf courses. It was designed by course architect Wayne Stiles, who also designed Nashua Country Club's course in 1915, at the start of a 40-year career. The spacious clubhouse quickly drew events, such as weddings, retirements, proms, birthdays, and bar mitzvahs in the well-sited building with its grand view of Mt. Kearsarge to the west.

In 2019, Mojalaki Country Club came under new ownership by Franklin businessmen. Entering a new century of service to the community, it will focus on events in the newly renovated clubhouse. The previous 18-hole golf course will now be available for gatherings like outdoor weddings. In the future, the owners want to create a Mojalaki-labeled wine from vineyards on the premises and cater events ranging from corporate meetings to community fundraisers.

The first event fsince the new owners took over was in June and it was a surprise retirement party for Franklin's City Planning Director Dick Lewis. Co-owners Fred McAllister and Rob Pearlman said, “It is fitting that our reopening honored Dick Lewis, who ably guided Franklin’s economic revitalization for many years.”

Speaking of the facility being back in business, Franklin's Mayor Olivia Zink said, "It's a great place to enjoy a wedding or other special event."

Mojalaki has always inspired people to gather and share life’s special moments. Each passing generation has discovered its best use from Native American hunting grounds to family farm to 20th century golf club. Now in its second century of serving the community, Mojalaki Country Club will continue offering a unique gathering place for celebrations.
