April job cuts fell to the lowest level since December, as U.S. employers announced plans to reduce payrolls by 38,121 during the month. The April total was 23 percent lower than March. Employers have announced 183,162 job cuts to date, virtually unchanged from the 183,653 planned layoffs announced in the first four months of 2012. Global outplacement consultancy Challenger, Gray & Christmas, Inc. will release its report on May job cuts on Thursday, June 6, at 7:30 a.m. ET.
