The Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce (GMCC) board of directors announced that Robin A. Comstock has tendered her resignation as president, chief executive officer and member of the board of directors, effective February 6, 2014.

"We are thankful for Robin’s leadership, enthusiasm and commitment over the past 13 years. The Chamber has achieved tremendous growth in membership and programs over Robin’s tenure," said Dianne Mercier, president of People’s United Bank, with NH headquarters in Manchester, and chair of the board. "We wish Robin the best in the next phase of her career.”

“I am proud of what I have accomplished in my time at the Greater Manchester Chamber,” said Comstock. "The Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce is a tremendous organization with a terrific staff and incredible members that make things happen in Manchester. I am not sure what this next chapter of my life will bring, but you can bet I will still be involved in some way with the community, I want to make a difference and I feel now is my time to step into that chapter."

Comstock has served as the president and CEO of the Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce since 2001. The Manchester chamber is the state’s largest chamber serving just under 1,000 members. In her role as president and CEO, Comstock represents the collective voice of the greater Manchester business community. She has been responsible for developing the organization’s strategic and has acted as a liaison to the board, as well as with elected local, state, and federal officials. She also develops relations between members of the private and public sectors to benefit the community at large, and the business community specifically.

Comstock began her career in Chamber of Commerce 25 years ago as the director of membership for the Greater Portsmouth Chamber of Commerce and went on to serve as executive director of the Dover Chamber of Commerce for three years (1993-1995) followed by five years (1995-2000) as president and CEO of the Greater Portsmouth Chamber of Commerce before landing in Manchester in 2001.
