Kohl's Department Stores will celebrate the grand opening of its new location on South River Road in Bedford on Wednesday, March 7 at 8 am. The store is the company's 10th location in NH and is one of eight new stores across the country that will open this spring, according to a press release.
The Bedford store will create approximately 130 local jobs. The store built to include several new design enhancements, including updated check-out stations and fitting rooms, redesigned shopping carts, a reinvented beauty department, expanded customer service areas, and in-store kiosks.
The store was built in accordance with Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Gold level certification standards from the U.S. Green Building Council. The store features recycled and regionally sourced materials, water-efficient plumbing fixtures, increased fresh air ventilation and Energy Star-rated roofs.
The Kohl's Cares Cause Merchandise Program, a philanthropic initiative that donates 100% of the profits from the sale of select children's merchandise to children's health and education programs nationwide, will be conducted throughout the year at the Bedford store. More than 600 associates in NH donated more than 2,000 hours of their time to the program in 2011. Children's Hospital of Boston, one of the more than 160 hospitals nationwide partnered with the program, has received more than $3,900,000 from Kohl's since 2011.
Kohl's Department Stores operates 1,127 stores in 49 states.
