Juvet Named Interim President of BIA

The Business and Industry Association announced David Juvet, senior vice president of public policy, will serve as interim president following the departure of longtime President Jim Roche.

Juvet has been with BIA, a business advocacy group, since 2000 and was promoted to senior vice president in 2008. In this role, Juvet guides public policy development and legislative activity and supervises BIA’s lobbying team.

“Dave’s 21 years of public policy and management experience, well-developed staff relationships and familiarity with BIA’s operational activities made him a sound choice. We are looking forward to working with him during this transitional time at the BIA,” said Sheryl McQuade, president of BIA’s board of directors, and regional president, Northern New England for TD Bank.

Juvet is a graduate of Arizona State University in Tempe, where he received a bachelor's degree in history/political science. He began his career with the Arizona Automobile Association in 1981 and has accumulated more than 35 years’ experience in government relations, lobbying, public policy advocacy, media relations, marketing and public relations.

Before moving to New England in 1988, Juvet worked for Arizona Gov. Evan Mecham as a public relations specialist in the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety. In 1988, he joined the AAA Massachusetts/NH Division as a manager of government and public relations. In 1990, he was promoted to director of government affairs for AAA in NH. In 1997, Juvet transitioned to director of marketing and public relations for the Currier Museum of Art in Manchester.

Juvet currently serves on the board of Reaching Higher NH.

The national executive search firm Waverly Partners is working with BIA's Search Committee to find a replacement for Roche, who is departing this month to become president of the Maine Bankers Association. To nominate a prospective candidate or express interest in the position, email Waverly Partners consultant Eric Peterson at BIAofNH@Waverly-Partners.com. Inquiries will remain confidential.
