Fred Kocher, former long-time president of the NH High Tech Council and a leader in New Hampshire’s business community, was recognized by the NH HTC for his accomplishments. At the 2014 Entrepreneur of the Year (EOY) event, Kocher was given the Council’s Lifetime Achievement Award in front of friends, colleagues, and family members.
Kocher served as the face of the NH HTC as its president for 14 years until stepping down in 2013. He is now a trustee and continues to support the the organization's efforts through work to re-engage other trustees. Kocher is co-founder and helps lead the NH Coalition for Business and Education, runs his consulting firm, Kocher & Co., continues to host and produce “NH’s Business,” a weekly program that has aired on WMUR for 20 years, and is a previous winner of Business NH Magazine's Business Leader of the Year awards.
“Fred has made a direct impact on so many businesses, nonprofit organizations and individuals within New Hampshire during his amazing career. He commands so much respect from so many people, and it was our true honor to recognize him with our most prestigious award,” said Paul Mailhot, chair of the NH HTC’s board. “I am very glad that I had the opportunity to work with him on the board and that our paths will continue to cross.”
The Lifetime Achievement Award is given out periodically to outstanding individuals who have had a significant impact on the High Tech Council. To pay tribute to Fred Kocher, WMUR produced a “news spot” aired at the EOY event that encapsulated his career. Governor Maggie Hassan was also on hand to recognize him.
The NH High Tech Council engages, connects, and supports member companies throughout the state. As the largest member-driven technology association in the state, the Council supports research, innovation, and economic and workforce development efforts.
