Here's a Great Place to Work: Klüber Lubrication

Perks are great, but it’s culture that keeps employees. No one knows that better than the organizations on the 2019 list of the Best Companies to Work For in NH. Firms had to complete an extensive employer application detailing not only their benefits, but the policies and programs they have in place geared to creating a great workplace for employees. Here is a profile of one of this year's winning companies:

Klüber is a company that rewards a job well done. A bonus structure is in place for all employees. Those who work hourly receive an annual bonus equivalent to one month’s salary. At milestone anniversaries, employees receive a cash allotment toward a gift they pick, ranging from $25 toward a gift at the end year one to $350 for major milestones. And, at 30 years, workers receive a $3,000 check. Frugality also is rewarded. Employees who travel abroad and fly economy class are reimbursed $1,200 to $1,500, essentially receiving yet another bonus for saving the company money.

During the annual employee appreciation week, Klüber hosts catered breakfasts and lunches,  bowling and pizza off site, an escape room, an ice cream sundae party and contests with prizes. It also provides onsite massages that the company says are popular.

Throughout the year, Klüber creates a fun atmosphere by hosting food trucks, BBQs, potlucks, TEDTalk Tuesday and a family summer outing. This year, employees were treated to a clambake at Mel’s Fun Park in Litchfield.

But it’s not all fun and games. Employees are also encouraged to be healthier. Klüber pays 89% of health insurance, hosts an annual health-screening day and incentivizes employees by reimbursing them $540 annually for gym memberships, sports equipment, sneakers, fitness watches and exercise equipment. Even participating spouses receive $200 annually. Employees can also access onsite chiropractic services.

Through the parent company, Freudenberg, children and grandchildren (ages 14 to 20) of employees can visit another employee’s family at one of its international locations as an exchange student for two to four weeks.
