Harvard Pilgrim to Offer New Insurance Products

Published Friday Apr 27, 2018

Harvard Pilgrim Health Care, with NH headquarters in Manchester, will begin offering its employer groups access to new insurance products through an arrangement with The Guardian Life Insurance Company of America (Guardian). The products, which are underwritten by Guardian, include dental and vision insurance, basic life and accidental death and dismemberment, life insurance, short and long-term disability and accident, cancer, critical illness and hospital indemnity coverage.

These products will be available to new and existing employer groups in the four states that Harvard Pilgrim serves:  Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maine and New Hampshire. Medical premium discounts will be available to fully insured, large group employers, with 51 to 999 employees, who opt for ancillary coverages.

“We are excited to offer these new insurance products, says Harvard Pilgrim President and CEO Eric Schultz. “In doing so, we will better serve the needs of our employer groups and their employees. The expansion in insurance choices will provide easy shopping and enable employees to select coverages that meet their individual and family needs.”

“When employers broaden the insurance benefits they offer, it demonstrates support for their employees’ well-being” says Marc Costantini, executive VP, commercial and government markets at Guardian. “Harvard Pilgrim has been a valuable and trusted partner of Guardian’s in New England for more than 15 years. Making Guardian products available to their clients builds on their continuing commitment to help them meet their financial needs.”
