Furloughed Federal Workers Offered Free Rides

With the current government shutdown affecting federal employees across the nation, C&J Bus Lines wants to help ease the financial burden for those still commuting to work. According to a statement from C&J, from now until the government is reopened, C&J will offer free daily transportation to work for furloughed federal government employees traveling to Boston.

“We want to support our riders who are not being paid but still diligently doing their job for our country,” says Jim Jalbert, President of C&J Bus Lines. “The last thing we want them to worry about is how they’re going to get to and from work. We are pleased to do what we can to help those impacted by this unfortunate situation and are hopeful that the matter will be resolved as quickly as possible. We’re all in this together, and we’ll get through it together.”

If you are a federal employee traveling to Boston for work and are no longer receiving pay due to the shutdown, C&J wants to help! To receive your free ticket to Boston from C&J you must visit one of C&J’s terminals in Dover, Portsmouth or Newburyport to purchase and redeem your roundtrip ticket on the day of travel each day.
