Crowdfunding Program in Monadnock Region Seeks Applicants

The Local Crowd (TLC) Monadnock in Keene, a community-based crowdfunding program, is inviting emerging and established "Fourth Sector" social enterprises to submit project proposals for campaigns.

The Fourth Sector represents a merger of movements that intentionally integrate social purpose with traditional business methods. Unlike regular for-profit companies, for-benefit businesses put their mission over maximizing profits. The products and services that these businesses offer help them serve their purpose, not just bring in profit.

TLC Monadnock will select up to six social enterprises to participate in this pilot study, based on their potential to positively impact their local economy and community. Accepted proposals will launch their crowdfunding campaigns this spring.

Teams will gain access to a free marketing assessment to ensure that coaching and other TLC resources best fit each team's needs as well as hands-on technical assistance to help create and launch their campaigns.

TLC Monadnock will also award one proposal a free crowdfunding video produced by 710 Main Films to support their campaign.  Studies show that crowdfunding campaigns with videos raise four times more funds than campaigns without videos.

This RFP is available online at tlcmonadnock.com/rfp. All proposals are due before 5 p.m. on May 10.

Crowdfunding is the process in which an entrepreneur, business, or organization asks a large number of people (usually through the Internet) to contribute a certain amount of money for a specific project. By leveraging the power of crowdfunding, TLC Monadnock's fundraising platform will help start-up ventures, early-growth stage companies and community-based projects find access to capital while creating a new way for community members to support the projects they care about.
