Published Tuesday Jul 14, 2015

Baker Newman Noyes, an accounting and consulting firm with offices in Manchester, announced that the acquisition and integration of the external audit and tax practices of Shatswell, MacLeod & Company, a Massachusetts firm, has been completed. Glen MacLeod, John Marsh, Kevin O’Brien and Joseph Jalbert have all joined Baker Newman Noyes as audit principals and John Fitzgibbons has joined the tax department as a senior manager.

Eleanor Baker, BNN’s managing principal, said, “This is an exciting time as we welcome a group of very talented professionals to our thriving financial services practice.”

This move also means the accounting firm has a significant stake in the New England banking sector, with more than 50 experienced team members serving commercial and savings banks, credit unions, non-depository trust companies, and investment advisory firms.

With this addition, BNN has approximately 250 employees, including 38 principals. BNN is ranked by Inside Public Accounting as one of the top 125 firms in the U.S. and in 2014 was recognized as a “Firm to Watch” by Accounting Today. Clients can be found throughout New England, across the United States, and in numerous countries around the world.

Baker Newman Noyes has offices throughout New England in Maine, Massachusetts and New Hampshire. The firm supports a variety of clients with a special focus on banking and financial services, health care, manufacturing and distribution, nonprofit, public sector entities, privately held and family-owned businesses, and high net worth individuals. Baker Newman Noyes is an independent member of Baker Tilly International.
