The Art Center at 1 Washington St. in Dover was named Microenterprise Business of the Year at the 35th annual Business in the Arts Gala, and joins the ranks of four other award recipients including the Duprey Companies, the Keene Sentinel, Fiduciary Trust of New England, and Elizabeth Hitchcock.
Rebecca Proctor, owner of The Art Center, says the award reflects not only on her efforts but on the work of everyone who has helped to make The Art Center a successful and vital part of the arts in Dover, the Seacoast area, and New Hampshire.
The Art Center offers studio space for local artists, a photography studio, classes, and monthly exhibits. It is a founding participant of Dover’s Art Walk series and has hosted poetry readings, musical and theatrical productions, book signings, and author meet and greets.
