750,000 Visitors Expected to Spend $115 Million during February

Published Friday Feb 15, 2013

The upcoming Presidents' Day weekend kicks off the mid-winter vacation week and a flurry of winter activities around New Hampshire.

According to a report by the Institute for New Hampshire Studies, about 750,000 visitors will come from out-of-state and spend about $115 million over the nine-day period beginning Saturday.

We have snow in every corner of the state going into the long holiday weekend and the school vacation weeks that follow, said Lori Harnois, director of the New Hampshire Division of Travel and Tourism in Concord. Not only will this be an opportunity for visitors to experience the wide range of winter activities wherever they are in the state, the snow is a boon for our businesses, too.

Most of the out-of-state visitors heading into the state this month will be from New England and New York, as well a small percentage from Canada and Europe.
