Diversity is celebrated at Wire Belt Company of America, where six languages can be heard around the building. The company celebrates an annual Diversity Day that includes employees sharing delicacies from their native countries. The company also has a mural of the globe depicting the countries of employees who work there.

Fun is a hallmark of Wire Belt. Monthly events include barbecues, Red Sox opener and Halloween celebrations, food trucks, Pie Day and a chili cook-off.

The company hosts monthly rallies to update employees about the business and holds “Hey, Did You Know?” sessions and a “Thank You Moment” at each rally. Employees are encouraged to pass along information about fellow employee’s achievements and celebrations, such as attaining U.S. citizenship, wedding anniversaries and births, and to also thank each other for being there when they were needed.

Because of these efforts, employees stay. In fact, once employees have been with Wire Belt for 25 years, a banner is hung in their honor in the factory. Wire Belt also grants a “Decade Sabbatical” in which employees receive a two-week paid sabbatical at every decade anniversary.

Employees receive Christmas bonuses usually equal to a week’s pay. Wire Belt also has a profit-sharing plan that is distributed directly into employees’ 401(k)s. While the profit-sharing plan is legally capped at 15% of an employee’s gross annual earnings, if the profit-share exceeds that limit, the additional amount is given as a cash performance bonus.

To celebrate the 2022 winners, Business NH Magazine will host the Breakfast with The Best on Oct. 5. It will include two panels with executives from the winning companies and CultureFest: 2022, where participants dig into workplace topics in eight-minute workshops. The Breakfast will be held at the DoubleTree by Hilton in downtown Manchester from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.
