At Moore Nanotechnology Systems, employees can communicate their ideas freely through one-on-one discussions, CEO roundtables, monthly communication meetings, and subcommittees. “We have made a conscious decision not to have an anonymous box located somewhere in the facility for employees to fill out a piece of paper without a name,” says Vice President of Human Resources Kimberly Paquette.

Employees are encouraged to provide feedback openly. During his CEO roundtables, Moore Nanotechnology CEO Mark Boomgarden asks employees two questions: What do you like about working at Nanotech? If you were me, what would you do differently, and why?

Boomgarden knows the company’s culture is a big reason for Moore Nanotechnology’s success. “We treat our employees, customers and business associates with the fairness, respect, and honesty they deserve,” he says.

Part-time employees working less than 30 hours a week are eligible to participate in all company events and can receive flexible work hours. Benefits for all employees include medical, dental, and vision insurance; flexible spending accounts; life insurance, and a 401(k) with a company match.

Moore Nanotechnology also offers employees fresh fruit, coffee and tea, and a variety of healthy snack bars daily along with celebrations on birthdays and anniversaries, service awards, on-the spot recognition, team cookouts, and a monthly bingo game.

The company created an internal educational program, known as Moore U that offers lunch and learn sessions where employees are invited to a free catered lunch to learn about various aspects of the business. In 2023, Moore Nanotechnology began offering monthly chair massages at no cost to employees. Each month the company holds a random drawing where all employees are automatically entered to win prizes.
