Becoming a world leader in cryogenic, high frequency, and space qualified communication products requires a workplace culture focused on celebrating diversity and rewarding employees for their hard work.

XMA listens to its employees whether they’re working remotely or on the manufacturing floor. When the company’s assemblers expressed fatigue issues with their chairs a couple of years ago, the company bought ergonomic chairs. The production supervisor first brought around a sample chair so the production team could approve it.

XMA awards its employees for their service at a company party each spring, giving gifts including knife sets, watches, dishware, jewelry and appliances. Each month managers deliver anniversary and birthday cards to celebrate team members. Employees can take a paid day off for their birthday on any day of the week off in which their birthday falls. XMA also selects a “team member of the year” to receive the Fred Goodrich (XMA founder) Presidential Award of Excellence. Honorees receive gifts that have ranged from cash, tickets to an Elton John concert, to a vacation in Hawaii.

Employees are offered 11 weeks of paid maternity leave, flex-start times and remote working arrangements. Employees can be reimbursed for the full amount of their health plan deducible by completing a Wellness Credit HRA form showing they received an annual physical and two dental cleaning appointments as well as complete an anonymous Anthem sponsored health assessment. XMA is a designated Recovery Friendly Workplace, receiving training to support employees in recovery and those impacted by substance use disorder.

XMA also offers a student loan repayment program, increasing the company’s contribution amounts based on years of service.
