2020 Business of the Decade Competition

Business NH Magazine and the NH Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives invite past winners of the Business Leader and Business of the Year awards to enter the 2020 Business of the Decade competition.

This is an opportunity for past winners to celebrate excellence in their companies. Only companies, business assistance organizations and leaders who won Business or Business Leader of the Year awards in 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018 or 2019 are eligible to compete in the Business of the Decade competition.

All other businesses and leaders are ineligible to compete and must wait to enter the Business and Business Leader of the Year competition in 2021. Those applications will be available online in September 2020.

We will honor one Business Leader of the Decade. We will also honor 10 NH companies/organizations as a Business of the Decade, one from each of these industry categories:

• Business Assitance Organization
• Business Services
• Construction/Engineering/Real Estate
• Education
• Financial Services/Insurance
• Manufacturing/Technology
• Health Care
• Hospitality/Tourism
• Retail/Wholesale
• Nonprofit*

*The 2020 nonprofit winner will receive an unrestricted $5,000 grant from the NH Charitable Foundation. This award is in tribute to Walter J. Dunfey.

THE APPLICATION IS ONLINE ONLY. The application deadline is January 17, 2020 after which the online form will no longer be available.

Please note the application is quite extensive. Answer each of the questions below in 2,000 words or less. We suggest you answer the questions in a word document, save them and copy them into this form. Scroll to the bottom of the form for the list of questions.

Detailed Questions

Submit five letters of recommendation: one from the president or executive director of your local chamber or the BIA and four from recognized business leaders in your community. These letters should explain, from the writer's perspective, why the company should be considered for Business of the Decade.
