The American Legislative Exchange Council recently ranked states on 15 policies relating to their fiscal health including: growth in state gross domestic product, absolute domestic migration and nonfarm payroll. The rankings are based on performance between 2003 and 2013. Here is how the New England states rank.

28 - Massachusetts
29 - New Hampshire
39 - Rhode Island
42- Maine
47 - Connecticut
49 - Vermont
