At a December 15 luncheon, presented by the Business and Industry Association, U.S. Sen. Judd Gregg will discuss Congress' recently passed economic recovery legislation that included $700 billion for struggling financial institutions. Gregg, who was chief republican architect of the legislation, will address questions such as:
- Why did Congress pass the so-called Wall Street Bail-out Bill?
- What's in the bill?
- How is it working so far? What is the impact on the economy?
- Is another economic stimulus package needed? If so, how will it be used?
Attendees will hear from Gregg during a luncheon, sponsored by Laconia Savings Bank, at the Center of New Hampshire in Manchester. Registration begins at 11:30 a.m. and the luncheon and program is scheduled to last until 1:30 p.m. The cost to attend is $35.
