In the spotlight: Copper Door Restaurants in Bedford and Salem will be hosting their annual Wicked Scary Week from October 21-31, a fundraiser benefitting FEEDNH.org. Anytime a mortal orders off the special lunch and dinner menu, a $5 donation will be made to FEEDNH.org, the Great NH Restaurants’ Charitable Trust.

Fallon Reed was unanimously confirmed as director of personnel and information for the NH Department of Corrections during the October 19, Governor & Council meeting. Reed joins the Department of Corrections after providing nearly two decades of service with the NH Department of Safety.

The Governor and Council voted to approve $25 million for the Sullivan County Nursing Home to renovate their existing facilities. The County Nursing Home Infrastructure Program provides the opportunity for all County nursing homes to apply for capital investments.

NH Motor Speedway staff members enjoyed a day of community service and team building for the fourth annual Speedway Cares Day in Loudon, hometown to “The Magic Mile.” The team spent a combined total of 69 hours chopping trees, clearing brush and raking leaves to clear out the expansion area at the Moore Cemetery, which dates back to the early-1800s.

The Park Theatre in Jaffrey will gost Garrison Keillor on April 29, 2023. Tickets for this special live event will go on sale on Thanksgiving Day. Garrison Keillor Tonight is an evening of stand-up, storytelling, audience song, and poetry. One man, one microphone. There are sung sonnets, limericks, and musical jokes, and the thread that runs through it is the beauty of growing old.

Throughout its modern history, the residents of Sandwich could only hear the distant sound of the information superhighway as it passed them by. But with the start of NH Broadband fiber-optic internet service to town, they’ve got their own onramp and all the benefits it brings. Internet speeds up to 2 gigabits per second are now available to New Hampshire Electric Cooperative members in Sandwich, thanks in large part to the persistent advocacy of its townspeople.

Bank of New Hampshire promoted Douglas Morrissette to commercial credit officer. He joined the commercial banking department in 2014, was promoted to a Portfolio manager/workout specialist in 2016 and has gained significant experience since that time.
