In the spotlight: Cheshire Medical Center, a member of Dartmouth Health, hired KrisEmily McCrory, MD, MS Med Ed, FAAFP, as a faculty member and associate program director for the planned Cheshire Medical Center Family Medicine Residency program. Kristen Whyte, MSN, APRN, joins the Family Medicine department. Prior to coming to Cheshire, Whyte was most recently the lead RN at a COVID testing site at Babson College in Wellesley, Mass.

Tinkham Realty facilitated the sale of a former Stratham Tire Retail Center in Laconia consisting of 6,297 square feet of retail building and a 5,000 square-foot storage/warehouse building. Jerry Hersch of the commercial division of Tinkham Realty represented the seller, The Lionel R. LaBonte Rev. Tr. and assisted the buyer, Wesley Ray Drew. The sales price according to the Belknap Registry of Deeds was $925,000.

Lakes Region eBikes is now open in downtown Franklin offering rentals and retail sales of Surface 604 ebikes, parts and accessories. The 57.6-mile Northern Rail Trail and the 4.2 mile Winnipesaukee River Trial are easily accessed from the shop on Central Street and all safety equipment is provided.

Cornerstone VNA, in Rochester is looking for individuals who are interested in becoming a Hospice volunteer. Currently, the greatest need for volunteers is in the seacoast and southern Maine areas. No medical or volunteer experience is necessary to make a positive difference.

Cheshire County will receive $200,000 and Linwood Medical Center will receive $116,476 in federal funding to support workforce training for mental health and substance use services in rural areas. The funding was awarded by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, part of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

Bar Harbor Bank & Trust recently donated $3,000 to the New London Conservation Commission to support the organization’s efforts to improve the safety of the Philbrick-Cricenti Bog boardwalk. The funds from the Bank will be used for phase 2 of the project.

The Ted Herbert Music School in Manchester named Jeffrey Samataro director of music engagement. Samataro has been on the faculty as drum Instructor since 2011. He served as the band director at Hampstead Academy in Hampstead, NH for 6 years and was a professor of percussion at Southern NH University for 7 years.

Winnipesaukee River Basin Program and Eversource completed phase one of a project to improve energy efficiency at the NHDES wastewater treatment facility in Franklin. When the second phase is also completed, the upgrades will lead to a 27 percent reduction in electric use at the facility.
