In the Spotlight: Rotary Clubs in NH and VT donated $21,225 to the New Hampshire Food Bank, a program of Catholic Charities New Hampshire, to purchase dairy products. Four Rotary Clubs and two Districts (representing multiple clubs) joined forces to raise the funds this summer. Dairy products are among the most requested items from local food pantries served by the NH Food Bank.

Dartmouth-Hitchcock (D-H) in Lebanon named Stacie Deiner, MD, vice chair for research for the Department of Anesthesiology. Deiner was also recently named the William LeRoy Garth Professor in Medical Science at the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth, which has played a role in stimulating research in anesthesiology.

DH neurologist Barbara Jobst, M.D., Ph.D., was named the 2020 Tech Professional of the Year by the NH Tech Alliance. Jobst serves as co-director of the Epilepsy Center at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon. She is the section chief for adult neurology and vice-chair of the neurology department.

Attorney James J. Steinkrauss joined Rath, Young and Pignatelli, P.C. in Concord as a member of the environmental practice group. Prior to joining the firm, he served as deputy general counsel with the Boston Water and Sewer Commission.

Merrimack County Savings Bank purchased $10,000 in tax credits through the NH Community Development Finance Authority to support the Capital Regional Development Council, which provides non-traditional financing for small businesses. The Merrimack also purchased $15,000 in tax credits to expand lab space at Making Matters NH.

XMReality in Portsmouth signed a three-year contract with Saab AB, a Swedish defense and security company, which serves the global market with remote guidance services for military defense and civil security. The initial order value is approximately $180,000.

White Mountain Rotary, as part of its commitment to Service Above Self, recently donated 75 masks for students, teachers, and administrators at Ed Fenn Elementary and Gorham Middle/High Schools, adding to hundreds donated to area schools since the start of the pandemic.

Members First Credit Union donated $15,000 to the Manchester Police Athletic League (MPAL) by sponsoring the 2020 MPAL Ball. The MPAL “Out of the Box Ball 2020” was billed as a “socially distinct experience” with in-home, chef-prepared dinners for 2-10 participants. MPAL is a non-profit afterschool organization that matches cops with kids to provide coaching and mentoring.

ENT Associates of New Hampshire joined Concord Hospital Medical Group. The practice is named Concord Hospital Otolaryngology-Laconia and will continue caring for patients experiencing diseases and disorders of the ear, nose, and throat, as well as head and neck conditions at their five locations throughout the Lakes Region and Central NH.

Lindt USA in Stratham celebrated employees who received their college degrees and certifications with support from Lindt USA-sponsored programs. The 2020 graduates are Chris Wayss, production manager, bachelor’s degree, Granite State College, Summa Cum Laude; Luis Dieppa, team lead, associate degree, Columbia College; Ronnie Garcia, production supervisor, associate degree, Columbia College; Robert Harrison, maintenance supervisor, associate degree, Columbia College; Evan Stancel, production supervisor, associate degree, Columbia College; and Denice Nunez, administrative assistant, associate degree, Northern Essex Community College.
